Ahyes, after a fairly rough start of this blog..
Wait, who am I kidding? I never posted anything besides my introduction.
And therefore it is time I give this blog a second chance. A new life. Or actually more like a first life, because the first attempt was too short to be acknowledged as one.
What triggered me into posting something, you ask?
It was a photographer, by the name of Rob Hoffman. Some of you may know him as the Jonas Brothers' photographer, some of you may know him personally (Lucky duck!), and some of you may not have a clue as to who this fine gentleman may be.
This Rob fellow made me very happy, just a couple of days ago.
I had drawn a portrait of him, from a photo that I also took myself at a Jonas' concert. Approximately two minutes after uploading said drawing to Twitter, I got a reply.
As a matter of fact, I got a lot of replies, but it started with a reply from previously mentioned subject of the drawing. Rob Hoffman.
Drawing:
He. Liked. It.
Sorry for the teenie sentence up there.^ But it is true, and that is what made me so happy. His exact words were: "That's too cool! Thanks!!"
I felt this tingly feeling inside, quite like butterflies, but not exactly like the butterflies when you're in love. I was thrilled, happy, excited, amazed, and ever so thankful! Yes, thankful. For five words ('that is', so definitely five words) and three exclamation marks.
But all in all, this only confirms my bizarre state of my mind. Ah, yes.. what a simple tweet can do to me..
Ohh, it's what you do to me.. Even though it's just a tweet. - My rendition of part of the lyrics of Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T's.
Bizarre? Maybe. Still happy? Definitely.
Love,
Meike
And if anyone is interested, this was the photo I used:

.. some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.
"We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it. That's all." - Andrew Clark, The Breakfast Club
This is one of my favorite quotes. Why? Because it's true. Everyone has a quirky feature, a strange obsession, a hidden secret, etc.
Why am I bizarre?
Several reasons.
1. I'm a Harry Potter geek. Always have been, always will be.
2. I love the Jonas Brothers, to an extent that I spend way too much money on them and went to see the same concert 5 times in 9 days, in 4 countries.
3. I spend a lot of time drawing portraits, while hardly anyone buys them.
4. I sing. Everywhere, anytime. Except when it's inappropriate or it bothers people.
5. I love to visit Fantasy fairs and have like 3 or 4 outfits for it.
There's probably more, but those are the things I will be blogging about.
Oh, and all the strange, yet amusing websites I find. And those are a lot, so beware.
Who am I anyway?
Right, sorry.
My name is Meike, I was born on the 24th of February, 1990, and I live in the Netherlands. I don't have a job (yet!), but I try to make a bit of money by selling drawings. So far, it's not really going all that well. Bad luck, bad promotion, bad drawings? Who knows.
Hopefully you'll stick around and read some of the stuff I have to say.
